Shiitake Mushroom Asada Tacos

These summertime tacos come stacked with garden freshness. They are hot and cool and oh, so good. Plus they are quick and easy to prepare -- getting you in and out of that hot kitchen in a jiffy. You can even prepare them on the grill. Just before serving, toss the tortillas on a grill to warm them and to add a wonderful smoky flavor.

3 shiitake mushrooms, washed and sliced vertically
1/4 cup olive oil
1 large handful of cilantro, chopped
2 cloves garlic, minced
juice of 1 lime
corn tortillas
pico de gallo

1. Combine the oil, lime juice, cilantro, and garlic.
2. In a shallow dish, put marinade on top of sliced mushrooms. Cover and allow to sit for 20 minutes in the fridge.
3. Grill (or cook in a skillet) until heated through.
4. Serve with corn tortillas, limes and pico de gallo.

Grassroots Pay-Per-View

Pay-Per-View is an innovative new outreach strategy where activists set up in busy public locations and offer people $1.00 to watch a 4-minute video about the treatment of farmed animals. After learning the shocking truth, viewers are encouraged to decrease consumption of animal products and work toward a vegan diet.

As part of FARM’s continuing outreach efforts, volunteers around the U.S. are bringing Pay-Per-View to their communities. Johanna Andris is bringing the message to the people of San Luis Obispo, CA setting up Pay-Per-View stations at the local farmers' market and area universities. With good planning and a winning smile, Johanna’s Pay-Per-View events can draw in over 100 people in a couple of hours.

"Once they view the video, many people are deeply impacted by it," says Johanna. "Pay-Per-View is life-changing, it is inspiring, and, most importantly, it is effecting real, positive change toward a better world."

You can inspire others too -- do Pay-Per-View with the 10 Billion Lives video,
